Our clients have lived in this home for over 10 years, growing very fond of their current location and due to a new addition to the family it was time to maximize their living space. After working with our architect and designer they decided to add a new master bathroom, walk in closet, library, living room and dormer living area. We also decided to update the exterior to add curb appeal. Attention to detail is evident in the wainscoting, coffered ceilings and beautiful bamboo flooring throughout this home. Custom tile work enhances all the bathrooms, providing both beauty and durability. All bedrooms feature ample closets to ensure plenty of space for everyone, with an additional coat closet in the living room, as well as a unique extra space below the stairway for holiday decorations or items less-frequently used. The stairway spindles are decorative wrought iron, adding another elegant element, while maintaining the distinctive character of the house. And the open floor plan means easy access when entertaining or just keeping an eye on family members. In the living room a gas fireplace with custom decorative tile surround provides ambience while ensuring low maintenance.
Our clients had a traditional style in ind looking to continue their existing style we created a modern traditional design that will wont become dated in the near future. The new downstairs living area includes a family room and den. The upstairs walk in closet is fully equipped with shelving and closed storage. Our clients were in dire need of shelving for their various books and a quiet place to contemplate them. We installed a recessed book shelf accented by a Led directional Light, with closed cabinet storage highlighted by granite counters. The laundry room boasts matching *Samsung?washer and dryer, a counter for folding laundry and additional cabinetry. An adjacent mudroom provides a convenient bench for removing muddy sports gear or snowy boots and a rack for coats.
Our master bathroom suite features 3/8 clear glass Enclosure travertine floor and wall tile accent with a traditional border. The outside looks dramatically different after the home make over. We built a covered front porch with vertical traditional pillars. We installed large slate pieces for the front porch with a solid oak front door and wrought iron fence. We continued our update to the front steps and retainer wall. In the back we added a small closed in screen porch and redesigned the sidewalk and back stairway.
