Inheriting the family home helps financially, and preserves memories, but for this couple with a growing family, modern amenities were a necessity rather than a luxury. Updating the front with a new staircase, overhanging curved entry, wrought iron railings and 2 colors of siding provided architectural interest yet kept the integrity of the home and continuity with neighborhood homes.
Adding an additional level allowed our designers to create a master bath with unusual cupola-style ceiling. Using both complimentary and contrasting paint colors gives the illusion of width, while drawing the eye to the chandelier. Separate vanities provide storage and personal space, visually elongating the room.
In the living area, recessed bookcases on either side of the fireplace provide storage. Coffered ceilings with recessed lighting offer a subtle ambiance.
The large kitchen features white shaker-style cabinets, featuring glass inserts to showcase cherished family pieces handed down over generations. An adjacent wet bar with wine cooler and overhead storage makes entertaining a pleasure.
Our homeowner chose very light paint colors showcasing clean, modern elements in the newly remodeled bathrooms, hallways and fully remodeled basement.
